Terms and conditions of the Solidarity Academy 2010
1. Acceptance of the following Terms and Conditions is a necessary condition for participation in the Solidarity Academy 2010.
2. Working language of the Academy is English.
3. Only selected candidates are entitled to participate in the Academy. Organizers of the Academy reserve the right to select participants on a basis of sent applications.
4. A total of 60 participants will be invited to participate in the Academy: 20 participants from Poland and 40 participants from abroad (foreign participants will be selected from the following countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Romania, Slovakia and Ukraine – organizers reserve the right to select candidates also from other countries).
5. The Solidarity Academy 2010 is directed mainly to persons under the age of 29 years. Applications of such persons will be trated with the priority.
6. The participants of former editions of the Academy cannot take part in the Solidarity Academy 2010.
7. The Organizers of the Solidarity Academy 2010 cover accommodation and lodging costs, and other expenses related to the participation in the program of the Academy of every Participant.
8. In addition, the organizers will cover insurance *(please see information below the regulations) and PARTIALLY the travel expenses of FOREIGN participants. Calculation of refund will take into account distance of the countries of the participants’ origin from Gdansk:
A. expenses of participants from Belarus, Ukraine, Kaliningrad Oblast, Lithuania,
Czech Republic and Slovakia will be refunded UP TO 350 PLN (Polish currency)
B. expenses of participants from Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Romania, Russia will be returned UP
TO 450 PLN (Polish currency)
C. expenses of participants from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia will be returned UP TO
1000 PLN
9. Travel expanses’ refund will be conducted ONLY on the basis of tickets. The amount of the refund CANNOT exceed the price of tickets, or, if the price of tickets exceeds the maximum amount of refund mentioned in the Point 7.A, 7 B and 7 C – amount of the refund CAN NOT exceed this maximum amount.
10. The participants are asked to buy return tickets. Refunding will take place after coming to Gdansk on the basis of bought tickets, on the second and third day of the Academy.
11. A maximum amount of refund, which may be expected, will be communicated to every participants via email after the end of recruitment process. The Participants ARE NOT ENTITLED to receive higher amount of refund, than mentioned in this email.
12. The refund of travel expanses of foreign Participants, who will travel to Gdansk from the territory of Poland or from the country not being the country of origin of a given Participant, will be regarded as / considered a special case. Refund details of such travel expanses will be communicated via e-mail immediately after the end of recruitment process.
13. The Polish Participant cover their travel expanses by themselves. The Organizers of the Academy DO NOT COVER the travel expanses of Polish Participants.
14. The Participants are responsible for their own visa expanses.
15. The Participants are obliged to participate in ALL obligatory classes during the Solidarity Academy 2010. Under obligatory classes we understand lectures of guests and thematic workshops.
16. The Participants take part in one of three workshop paths. The topics of workshop paths are: the Idea of Solidarity, social change and social participation. Full description of all paths is available on the main website of the Academy in the part “About Academy”. The Participants, when filling the application form are required to choose one of the paths they would like to follow. The choice of a given path in the application form does not mean automatically, that the Participants will follow this path. The Organizers reserve the right to assign Participants to a different path that the one chosen in the application form. Final confirmation regarding the assignment to groups will be sent to the Participants via mail, after the end of recruitment process.
17. The Participants are responsible for proper preparation for the mandatory classes during the Academy. Under proper preparation we understand reading the materials available at the website in the part “Texts and publications”.
18. The Participants are obliged to respect rules of proper behavior in the place of accommodation.
19. It is forbidden to drink alcohol and use narcotics drugs of any kind in the place of accommodation.
20. The Participants not respecting these regulations and the rules in the place of accommodation may be removed from the Participants list, and asked to leave the place of accommodation with the immediate effect.
21. Participants’ personal data will be processed and protected in accordance with the Polish Data Protection Act 1997
Foreign Participants insurace details
Insurer: Allianz – Elvia
The insuranced is valid on a territory of Poland only and covers Medical Treatment Insurance up to30 000 euro and Accident Insurance up to 5000 euro
